![]() Netflix subscribers will more than likely be familiar with David Harbour already – he's Jim Hopper in what is arguably the streaming giant's biggest hit, Stranger Things. Sitting somewhere between Channel 4's Travel Man, Sky's An Idiot Abroad and the wry observations of Bill Bryson, the eight-parter sees him visit destinations in Costa Rica, Finland, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Portugal, South Africa and the US. Luckily for him, he's famous – so he's getting paid to do just that. He's always been steadfastly unadventurous, but feels that now it is time he broadened his horizons somewhat. ![]() The American Pie and Schitt's Creek star is, by his own admission, not your typical globetrotter. The Reluctant Traveller (Apple TV+, from Fri)Īnother week, another celeb travelogue – yet this one stands out due to the charisma and wit of its star and exec producer, Eugene Levy. A tempting prospect for fans of high-stakes espionage action or political thrillers in the mould of The Blacklist or 24 (which Liaison's director, Stephen Hopkins, also worked on), and there's even a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. BAFTA-winning Miss Peregrine star Eva Green and César-winner Vincent Cassel (Westworld) head the cast in what marks Apple's first French and English bilingual series. ![]() This new six-part thriller looks unlikely to buck the trend. ![]() Apple TV+ seems to opt for the quality approach, rather than quantity – in terms of choice it's hard to beat the likes of Netflix or Prime, but Apple seem to have put more thought into curating an all-killer-no-filler selection of originals. ![]()
